DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
First 5 Solano recommends that the Board of Supervisors read the proposed ordinance by title only and waive further reading of the ordinance and introduce an ordinance amending Solano County Code Chapter 7.3, section 7.3-03(a), related to membership of the First 5 Solano Children and Families Commission.

The First 5 Solano Commission has 9 members, which consist of:
a) 1 Board of Supervisor member
b) 2 Health & Social Services (H&SS) Designees, appointed by the H&SS Director
c) 5 BOS appointees, 1 appointee from each BOS District
d) 1 Member-at-Large
At the First 5 Solano Commission meeting on October 13, 2020 the Commission approved a recommendation to the Board of Supervisor to change the county code language 7.3-03 (a) be changed from:
All members of the commission shall reside in Solano County.
to:
Members of the commission shall reside in Solano County, with the exception of the members nominated by the Director of the Solano County Health and Social Services Department who shall work...
