DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of General Services recommends that the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the Notice of Completion for the Library-Wide Security Card Access Upgrades Project constructed by Honeywell Building Solutions of Sacramento, CA; and
2. Authorize the Clerk of the Board to record the executed Notice of Completion.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On December 14, 2021, the Board awarded a construction contract to Honeywell Building Solutions to provide replacement card access controllers located at ten Library sites throughout Solano County as part of the Library-Wide Security Card Access Upgrades Project (Project). Upon completion of construction, the quality of work satisfied the requirements of the construction documents and has been deemed code compliant. The Department of General Services is requesting that the Board approve the Notice of Completion for the Project and authorize the Clerk of the Board to record the document in order to release retention funds held by the County.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The Board approved $577,160 from the Library FY2020/21 Fund (Budget Unit # 6311) to fund the project. The construction contract with Honeywell Building Solutions was $367,160. The Project consisted of replacing obsolete and unsupported Honeywell Star II Card Access Control Panels with current, supported Honeywell Pro3200 Control Panels. The Project was completed on December 13, 2023.
