DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor Vasquez requests that the Board approve the appointment of Christina Love to the Solano County Fair Association Board of Directors representing District 4, for a four-year term to expire on March 12, 2028.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Christina Love is a Solano County resident with a long history of public service. She is currently the Deputy Executive Director of the Solano Local Agency Formation Commission and has served for more than a decade as a volunteer for the Vacaville Fiesta Days, including as parade chair.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the District 4 FY2023/24 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could choose not to approve the appointment of Christina Love to the Solano County Fair Association Board of Directors, however, that is not recommended as she has a expressed a willingness to serve and has extensive background in government and community events that will complement the knowledge base and perspectives of the current Fair Association Board membership.
