DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Planning Commission receive a presentation from county counsel regarding the Ralph M. Brown Act and Planning Commissioner ethical responsibilities.
DISCUSSION:
Planning Commissioners will receive a high-level presentation concerning the Ralph M. Brown Act and Planning Commissioner ethical responsibilities from Holly Tokar, Deputy County Counsel.
This presentation does not replace or satisfy the requirement that Commissioners receive at least two hours of ethics training within one year from the first day of service, and every two years thereafter (i.e., AB 1234 ethics training). Commissioners may take this training online through the Fair Political Practices Commission at https://www.fppc.ca.gov/learn/public-officials-and-employees-rules-/ethics-training.html. Commissioners should provide a copy of their Certification of Completion of the AB 1234 ethics training course to Allan Calder, Planning Division Manager.
