DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor Monica Brown requests the Board of Supervisors approve the reappointment of Sandi Hilton to the In-Home Support Services Advisory Committee, representing District 2, for a term to expire on June 28, 2028.
SUMMARY / DISCUSSION:
Sandi Hilton has been a home care provider in Vallejo since 2003. He was first appointed to the In-Home Support Services Advisory Committee in 2012. He is currently serving for his fourth time as chair of the In-Home Support Services Advisory Committee. He also serves as a Regional Vice-President of the California In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Consumer Alliance and serves as liaison between the In-Home Support Services Public Authority and In-House Support Orientation. Mr. Hilton’s work has enabled both elderly and disabled individuals to be able to continue to live at home. He has made a commitment to help the elderly and disabled to maintain self-respect and pride.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department’s FY2023/24 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board of Supervisors could choose not to approve of this appointment, but this is not recommended as Sandi Hilton is well-qualified for the position.
