DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

Supervisor Wanda Williams recommends the Board approve the reappointment of Robert Schuster to the Civil Service Commission as the District 3 representative for a four-year term to expire on January 1, 2028.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Mr. Schuster is eminently qualified for reappointment to the position on the Civil Service Commission, as he has a Jurist Doctorate from McGeorge Law School and an active member of the California Bar. He has practiced law since 1984, which includes the practice of Labor Law in Solano County. Mr. Schuster is eager to continue his work with other members of the commission.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the District 3 FY2024/25 Working Budget.

ALTERNATIVES:

The Board could decide not to reappoint Robert Schuster to the Civil Service Commission. This is not recommended as he is qualified; has served the community through many years and has a desire to serve in this capacity.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

None
