DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The District Attorney and the Department of Human Resources recommend that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution amending the List of Numbers and Classifications of Position in the District Attorney's Office to extend 1.0 FTE DA Investigator (Limited-term) through June 30, 2026.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

On December 30, 2019, the DA Investigator (Limited-term) position was added as a medical backfill through June 27, 2020. During the Budget Hearing process for FY2020/21 the Board approved an extension through June 30, 2021, and has approved extensions during the Midyear Fiscal process since then.

The DA currently has 10.0 FTE DA Investigators, of which one is limited-term. The department currently has a vacancy in the limited-term position. The position is funded with Proposition 172 sales tax revenues.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Funding for the 1.0 FTE DA Investigator (Limited-term) position is included in the FY2024/25 Working Budget. Funding for this position will be requested in the FY2025/26 Req...
