DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor Monica Brown requests that the Board of Supervisors approve the appointment of Frank Malifrando to the Solano County Fair Association Board of Directors, representing District 2, for a term to expire on July 31, 2029.
SUMMARY:
Frank Malifrando has served in executive roles at several healthcare institutions in Northern California, as well as the regional executive director for several Sutter Health Medical Facilities. While at these facilities, including Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo, he completed the funding and the development of the successful Orthopedic Department. Mr. Malifrando has also served as the Chief Development and Public Affairs Officer for Catholic Charities of the East Bay. His community volunteer efforts have garnered him with multiple civic and community awards regarding several of his creations to embrace the well-being and concerns of the residents in the Bay Area.
In San Francisco, Mr. Malifrando created the AIDS Interfaith Chapel in Grace Cathedral to honor those who have passed on from AIDS related illnesses. He had also created the Mad Hatter Holiday Festivals in Vallejo in 2010. The very popular Mad Hatter Holiday Festival, Parade & Tree Lighting in December and the Mad Hatter's July 4th Waterfront Celebration that currently attracts over 10,000 attendees and established Vallejo as a holiday destination in the Bay Area.
Mr. Malifrando was recently honored by the City of Vallejo during a December City Council meeting with a Proclamation of his service to the community in creating positive healthy events for the residents of Vallejo and establishing Vallejo as the place to be in the Bay Area for the holiday s...
