DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of Human Resources (HR) recommends the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution amending the Alphabetical Listing of Classes and Salaries to add the classification of Budget Coordinator - CAO with a monthly salary range of $6,466.91 - $7,860.56.

SUMMARY:

On June 23, 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution No. 2022-138 to add a 1.00 FTE Budget Technician (TBD) in the County Administrator's Office to assist the Budget Officer or higher-level manager within the County Administrator's Office with coordinating, preparing, distributing, and presenting the County's annual, mid-term, and other budgets, pending a review and recommendation by HR. HR determined the appropriate classification is Budget Coordinator - CAO.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The approximate fiscal impact of adding the Budget Coordinator - CAO for the remainder of FY2024/25 is $28,458. Funding for this position is included in the FY2024/25 Working Budget. The annual fiscal impact of adding the Budget Coordinator - CAO is approximately $148,500.

The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the County Administrator's Office's FY2024/25 adopted budget.
