DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS) recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt and present a resolution and plaque of appreciation recognizing Rozzana Verder-Aliga, Mental Health Services Manager, Senior, upon her retirement from Solano County with 28 years of dedicated public service in the Department of Health and Social Services, Behavioral Health Division.
SUMMARY:
Rozzana Verder-Aliga holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of San Francisco, a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Dr. Verder-Aliga began working for Solano County Behavioral Health as a Mental Health Clinician on December 4, 1995. Her acumen and strong work ethic were quickly recognized, and in 1997 she promoted to the position of Mental Health Program Supervisor. Subsequently, in 2000 she promoted to Mental Health Services Manager and in 2009 promoted to Mental Health Services Manager, Senior. Throughout her career with Solano County Behavioral Health, Dr. Verder-Aliga has supported a variety of teams including the Vallejo Children’s outpatient clinics, the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) Successful Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Treatment (SMART) team, an adult Full-Service Partnership team, a youth development crime prevention program, and cultural competence committee work and other projects. Her most recent responsibilities have included the oversight of the three Adult Outpatient Clinics located in Fairfield, Vacaville, and Vallejo.
As a Mental Health Services Manager, Senior, Dr. Verder-Aliga has developed strong partnerships to support ease of access for timely and appropriate mental health services for Solano’s most vulnerable youth and adult populations. She constantly raised morale for her teams and has been a champion for staff self-care and cultural awareness for her entire career with Solano County. She is beloved by her colleagues for her generous spirit and ability to handle challenging situations with a smile and sense of tenacity.
Dr. Verder-Aliga retires on December 5, 2023, after carrying out her duties with integrity and grace for 28 years as an exemplary public servant. Her colleagues are appreciative of all the support she has provided over the years, and Solano County has been enriched by her career tenure. Dr. Verder-Aliga will be truly missed, and Solano Behavioral Health wishes her all the best in her future endeavors and a long, happy retirement.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the Department’s FY2023/24 Working Budget. The costs associated with preparation and purchase of resolution and plaque are included in the Board’s FY2023/24 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could choose not to adopt and present this resolution and plaque of appreciation. This is not recommended as this is an opportunity to recognize Rozzana Verder-Aliga’s outstanding dedication and contributions to Solano County.
