DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Library Services recommends the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Carol-Suzanne Crown upon her retirement from the Department of Library Services.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Carol-Suzanne Crown has been a valued member of the Solano County Library staff for more than twenty years, beginning her tenure as a Departmental Aide - Extra Help at Vallejo Springstowne Library on September 29, 2004, and then as a Library Aide on January 17, 2006. Ms. Crown was promoted to Library Assistant on April 22, 2007, and later transferred to Technical Services on October 7, 2007.
Ms. Crown demonstrated professionalism and excellence in the performance of her duties. Her hard work and dedication to the community is a direct reflection of Solano County Library’s mission, vision, and values.
Ms. Crown retired May 30, 2026, with over 20 years of dedicated public service to Solano County. She has been a valued and respected colleague and will be missed by her friends, co-workers, and Technical Services colleagues in the Library and County.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed in the department’s FY2025/26 Working Budget. The cost associated with purchase of resolution materials and plaque are included in the Board’s FY2025/26 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could choose not to adopt the resolution and plaque of appreciation; however, this is not recommended because this is an opportunity to recognize Carol-Suzanne Crown’s dedication and outstanding contributions to the County and the community.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
There is no other agency involvement.
