DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Sheriff recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt and present a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Allison Hagen, Custody Sergeant, upon her retirement from the Sheriff’s Office with over 32 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Allison Hagen began her career with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office as an Extra-help Correctional Officer (Entry) on May 26, 1992, was rehired on December 15, 1993 as an Extra-help Correctional Officer (Entry). She transitioned to full-time Correctional Officer (Entry) on February 12, 1995, and was promoted to Correctional Officer on November 19, 1995. She was promoted to Correctional Sergeant on October 30, 2011, where she served until her retirement.
Sergeant Hagen worked numerous positions within the Custody Division at the Justice Detention Facility, Stanton Correctional Facility, and Claybank Detention Facility including Receiving Officer, Tower Officer, Visiting Officer, Mod Officer, Corridor Rover, Central Control, Medical Officer, Vacation Comp Relief Officer, Transfer Officer, Alternative to Sentencing Officer, Jail Training Officer, and served as a Facility Search Team leader.
Sergeant Hagen was commended for her role during a bomb threat on October 9, 2017, where it was noted that she was one of the officers involved in the successful evacuation of inmates, which significantly contributed to a positive outcome during an unexpected threat.
Sergeant Hagen exemplifies determination, proactive initiative, and demonstrated motivation in all her endeavors. The pride she takes in her work is reflected in her professionalism, organizational skills, and strong ethical standards. Her remarkable adaptability in challenging situations further solidified her role as a leader. She embodies the values upheld by the Sheriff’s Office and serves as an influential example of its commitment to excellence.
Sergeant Hagen is a highly respected and valued member of the Sheriff’s Office and will be greatly missed by her friends and co-workers. The resolution honors Allison Hagen for her over 32 years of service and commends her dedication and public service to Solano County. Sergeant Hagen’s official last date of employment with the Sheriff’s Office was June 11, 2025.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The cost associated with preparing the agenda item is nominal and absorbed by the department’s FY2025/26 Working Budget. The costs associated with the preparation and purchase of the proclamation materials and plaque are included in the Board’s FY2025/26 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board may elect not to adopt and present a resolution and plaque of appreciation; however, this is not recommended, as this is an opportunity to honor Custody Sergeant Allison Hagen for her years of public service to the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Solano County.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
