DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Probation Department recommends the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Dorcas Terrrado, Collections Officer, upon her retirement from the Solano County Probation Department with over 21 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Dorcas Terrado began her career with the Solano County Probation Department as a Collections Officer on February 21, 2004. Ms. Terrado was assigned to the Billing and Collections Unit, and was responsible for collecting, monitoring, and pursuing victim restitution, adult supervision fees, fines, Public Defender fees, and jurisdictional transfer cases.  She worked closely with the accounting staff on processing accounts, providing account updates, inquiries, and guidance on application of payments from clients.  She collaborated with representatives from other county agencies on the collection and case status of jurisdictional transfer cases.

Ms. Terrado has performed her duties throughout her years of service in a dependable and professional manner.  She pursued collections with flexibility, openness, and within established policies.  She provided payment options based on clients’ financial capability and conducted assessments to determine their ability to pay.  She treated her clients with courtesy and respect. Moreover, Ms. Terrado’s kind and generous nature has fostered strong relationships with all who had the privilege of working with her. She is a respected team member who has made a lasting and positive impact on the department.

After 21 years of service, Ms. Terrado retires on June 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of outstanding service to the department, its clients, and staff. Her dedication will be deeply missed.
