DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS) recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt and present a resolution and plaque of appreciation recognizing Patricia Zuñiga-Gerhardt, Administrative Secretary, upon her retirement from Solano County with 25 years of dedicated service in the Department of Health and Social Services, Family Health Services Division.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Patricia Zuñiga-Gerhardt began her career with Solano County on December 7, 1998, as a Library Aid for the John F. Kennedy Library located in Vallejo. In 1999, Ms. Zuñiga-Gerhardt was promoted to Library Assistant, and in 2006, she promoted to Library Assistant (Senior).
In 2007, Ms. Zuñiga-Gerhardt accepted a position with H&SS, Public Health, as an Office Assistant II working in the Nursing and Tuberculosis Program. In 2013, she transferred as an Office Assistant II to H&SS Child Welfare Services Division. In 2017, she transferred to Family Health Services, and in 2018, she was reclassified from Office Assistant II to Administrative Secretary in Family Health Services. Ms. Zuñiga-Gerhardt provided administrative support to the daily operations of the Chief Medical Officer and served as the clerk to the Community Healthcare Board.
Before her time with Solano County, Ms. Zuñiga-Gerhardt worked as a Veterinary Technician while obtaining her Associate of Arts (AA) in General Education. In addition, she worked as a Senior Lab Technician at the Shell Oil Refinery's laboratory Department and obtained her Registered Dental Assistant license.
During her tenure with Solano County, Ms. Zuñiga-Gerhardt was dedicated to serving the County and its clientele and continuously improving county processes. She has strived to improve efficacy and efficiency both internally and externally. She has demonstrated dedication to her community by providing for those in need. Ms. Zuñiga-Gerhardt embodies the Solano County “Live, Learn, Work, and Play” spirit.
Ms. Zuñiga-Gerhardt retired on September 6, 2024. Solano County H&SS staff and leadership congratulate Ms. Zuñiga-Gerhardt on a well-deserved retirement and wish her all the best in retirement and future endeavors.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The cost associated with preparing the agenda item is nominal and absorbed by the Department’s FY2025/26 Working Budget. The costs associated with the purchase and preparation of the resolution materials and plaque are included in the Board’s FY2025/26 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could choose not to adopt and present the resolution and plaque of appreciation for Ms. Zuñiga-Gerhardt. However, this is not recommended as it is an opportunity to recognize Ms. Zuñiga-Gerhardt's for 25 years of dedicated service and outstanding contributions to Solano County.
