DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Resource Management recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Scott Emigh, Public Works Maintenance Supervisor, upon his retirement from the Solano County Department of Resource Management after more than 29 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Scott Emigh began his career with the Solano County Public Works Operations Division on October 21, 1996, as a Public Works Maintenance Worker assigned to the Dixon Road Maintenance Crew. On March 15, 2015, he was promoted to Public Works Maintenance Worker (Senior) and assigned to the Rio Vista Road Maintenance Crew, and on March 10, 2021, he was promoted to Public Works Maintenance Supervisor and assigned to the Vegetation Management Crew.
Throughout his tenure, Mr. Emigh has been a vital member of the Public Works Operations Division. His extensive knowledge, exceptional skills, and unwavering commitment have played a significant role in enhancing and maintaining the County's vegetation management program. His leadership, professionalism, and dedication have earned the respect of his colleagues and contributed greatly to the success of the Division.
Mr. Emigh’s final day of County service will be August 25, 2026. The Department wishes to recognize and thank him for his outstanding service and lasting contributions to Solano County and to congratulate him on his retirement.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the Department’s FY2026/27 Working Budget. The costs associated with the purchase of the plaque of appreciation are included in the Board’s FY2026/27 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board may choose not to adopt a resolution and plaque of appreciation; however, this is not recommended, as this is an opportunity to honor Scott Emigh for his years of public service to the Department of Resource Management and the residents of Solano County.
