DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

 

The Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS) recommends that the Board adopt and present a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Eide Maigret, Eligibility Benefits Specialist II, upon her retirement from the Employment & Eligibility Service (E&ES) Division with over 22 years of dedicated service to Solano County.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

 

Eide Maigret began her career with Solano County on March 18, 1997 as an Eligibility Benefits Specialist I. After Ms. Maigret completed her job training, she worked in the Medi-Cal unit of the E&ES Vallejo office as an Eligibility Benefits Specialist II. Ms. Maigret worked in the Vallejo office until 2008 when she was reassigned to the Benefit Action Center (BAC), E&ES’s first call center. Ms. Maigret worked at the BAC until the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was implemented and the new Center for Healthcare Options and Insurance Coverage Enrollment (CHOICE) was formed in 2013.

 

Throughout her career, Ms. Maigret has shown a willingness to go the extra mile for clients, working efficiently and tirelessly to ensure that the members of the community have access to nutrition and health insurance. Ms. Maigret has modeled teamwork and demonstrated a positive and helpful attitude which has earned her the respect and admiration of those with whom she has worked in her twenty-two years in the Employment & Eligibility Services Division.

 

Ms. Maigret retires from E&ES on April 26, 2019 and H&SS wishes her well in her retirement and future endeavors which include gardening, traveling and spending time with family.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

 

The cost associated with preparing the agenda item is nominal and absorbed by the Department’s FY2018/19 Adopted Budget. The costs associated with preparation and purchase of the resolution materials and plaque are included in the Board’s FY2018/19 Adopted Budget.

 

ALTERNATIVES:

 

The Board may choose not to adopt a resolution and plaque of appreciation. This is not recommended as it is an opportunity to acknowledge Ms. Maigret for her dedication and service to Solano County.
