DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor James requests that the Board of Supervisors approve the appointment of Jared Bunde to serve on the Solano County Civil Service Commission representing District 1 for a term to expire May 10, 2030.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Jared Bunde brings more than a decade of experience in county government and public health systems, with extensive knowledge of county employment processes, job classifications, and compensation structures. Through his work with the Alameda County Health Care Services Agency, the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and Solano County Family Health Services, Jared has led and supported programs focused on healthcare access, homelessness outreach, quality improvement, case management, and care coordination for vulnerable populations.
His professional experience includes program planning and oversight, policy development, staff coordination, and community outreach in both traditional and non-traditional service settings. Jared has demonstrated a strong ability to collaborate with agencies, support effective service delivery, and address complex community needs through practical and responsive solutions.
Jared’s background in public service, healthcare administration, and community-based care brings valuable expertise, thoughtful leadership, and a strong understanding of the challenges facing local communities, making him well qualified to serve on the commission.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department’s FY2025/26 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could choose not to appoint Mr. Bunde; however, that is not recommended, as he brings valuable professional experience, leadership skills, and community insight that would make him a strong addition to the Solano County Civil Service Commission.
