DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Sheriff’s Office recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt and present a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Clerical Operations Manager Diana Jaramillo upon her retirement from the Sheriff’s Office with over 20 years of dedicated service to Solano County.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Diana Jaramillo began her career with the Department of Health and Social Services on April 24, 2006, as an Office Assistant II in the Public Health Division. On August 27, 2007, she accepted a promotion to Accounting Clerk II with the Department of Child Support Services, where she then promoted to Child Support Specialist on December 27, 2009. She joined the Solano County Sheriff’s Office as an Accounting Technician on July 29, 2018, before promoting to Accounting Supervisor with the Auditor-Controller’s Office on July 11, 2021. Diana returned to the Sheriff’s Office as a Clerical Operations Manager on September 17, 2023, where she served until her retirement.
Diana Jaramillo served numerous County departments but last served the Sheriff’s Office as the Clerical Operations Manager overseeing the Civil Bureau and the Records & Warrants Bureau, a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation, and acted as the Sheriff’s Office Agency CLETS Coordinator.
Diana Jaramillo was known for her professionalism, high standards, and willingness to learn and take on new challenges. With her direct and matter-of-fact approach, she provided clear guidance, served as a trusted mentor, and remained a steadfast advocate for her staff, always encouraging their growth and wanting the very best for them.
Diana Jaramillo was a highly respected and valued member of the Sheriff’s Office and will be greatly missed by her friends and co-workers. The resolution honors Diana Jaramillo for her 20 years and 3 months of service and commends her dedication and public service to Solano County. Diana Jaramillo’s official last date of employment with the Sheriff’s Office is August 4, 2026.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The cost associated with preparing the agenda item is nominal and absorbed by the department’s FY2026/27 Working Budget. The costs associated with preparation and purchase of the proclamation materials and plaque are included in the Board’s FY2026/27 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board may elect not to adopt a proclamation and plaque of appreciation; however, this is not recommended, as this is an opportunity to honor Clerical Operations Manager Diana Jaramillo for her years of public service to the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Solano County.
