DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

 

The Probation Department recommends the Board of Supervisors adopt and present a resolution and approve a plaque of appreciation honoring Lisa M. Wamble, Probation Services Manager, upon her retirement from the Solano County Probation Department, with over 31 years of dedicated public service to Solano County. 

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:   

 

Lisa M. Wamble began her employment with the Solano County Probation Department as a Group Counselor-Entry Level on April 6, 1986, and was promoted to Group Counselor- Journey Level on December 3, 1986.  Lisa remained at Juvenile Hall until September 17, 1989, when she was promoted to Probation Officer-Entry Level.  She was promoted to Deputy Probation Officer- Journey Level on March 18, 1990, supervising adults and juveniles in the Fairfield and Vallejo Office.  On April 18, 1999, she promoted to Senior Deputy Probation Officer and worked in various grant funded programs for juveniles to include the Repeat Offender Prevention Program.  Lisa was promoted to Supervising Deputy Probation Officer on May 27, 2001, and on August 13, 2006, she was promoted to Probation Services Manager, where she has led the Juvenile Field Services Division until her present retirement.

 

Lisa was instrumental in securing and managing grant funds and successfully developed, collaborated and implemented numerous innovative programs within the Juvenile Division which effectively served and positively impacted youth, their families and the community.  In addition, Lisa contributed to helping promote and display Solano County’s leadership qualities within the County and on a statewide level through her work with out-of-county agencies and organizations.

 

Lisa served as been a member of the California Association of Probation Services Administrators (CAPSA) for 11 years and also served as Secretary and Vice-President of the organization.  She was instrumental in working with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) on implementing State initiatives that that positively impacted youth.

 

Throughout her career with Solano County, Lisa has shown a commitment to public service and helping the citizens of Solano County for over 31 years.  As a Group Counselor, Probation Officer and Manager, Lisa has displayed a commitment to the mission of the Solano County Probation Department which is to Reduce Recidivism through Positive Behavior Change. She has positively impacted youths as well as their families.

 

Lisa officially retires on July 6, 2017 her professionalism, dedication, and compassion to helping the citizens of Solano County will be greatly missed.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:     

 

The cost of providing this resolution and plaque of appreciation is included in the County’s FY2016/17 Adopted Budget.  There is no additional impact to the General Fund.

 

ALTERNATIVES:     

 

The Board could choose not to adopt this resolution and plaque of appreciation.  This is not recommended as this is an opportunity to recognize Lisa M. Wamble dedication and contributions to Solano County.
