DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS) recommends that the Board adopt and present a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Gabriela Stumbaugh, Administrative Secretary, upon her retirement from the Public Health Division with over 24 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Ms. Stumbaugh began her career with Solano County in 1994 as a clerk with the Tax Collector’s office. In 1996, Ms. Stumbaugh was promoted to a Clerical Support Specialist in the Public Health Division in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. In 2000, Ms. Stumbaugh promoted to Administrative Secretary in the Nutrition Services Bureau, also within Public Health.
As a bilingual Administrative Secretary, Ms. Stumbaugh provided administrative support for 36 staff working on three WIC Program units providing services at six sites, one Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program unit, and one Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Program unit. Ms. Stumbaugh has been instrumental in keeping the Nutrition Services Bureau organized, productive, and efficient. She strove for excellence in the quality of her work and to improve the workflow of the Nutrition Services Bureau which included completing many different ongoing reports, managing inventory and an efficient tracking system to ensure that required activities are completed.
Throughout Ms. Stumbaugh’s career she has provided excellent support for the Nutrition Services Bureau, serving Solano County mothers and children with compassion and respect. Ms. Stumbaugh retired on January 11, 2019 and H&SS congratulates and wishes her all the best in her future endeavors.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The cost associated with preparing the agenda item is nominal and is absorbed by the Department’s FY2018/19 Adopted Budget. The costs associated with preparation and purchase of the resolution materials and plaque are included in the Board’s FY2018/19 Adopted Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could choose not to adopt and present this resolution and plaque of appreciation. This is not recommended as it is an opportunity to recognize Ms. Stumbaugh’s dedication and outstanding contributions to the County.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
There is no other agency involvement.
