DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

Supervisor Mashburn requests that the Board of Supervisors approve the appointment of Lisa Donahue to serve on the First 5 Commission representing District 5 for a term to expire August 27, 2028.

SUMMARY / DISCUSSION:

Lisa Donahue’s broad range of leadership experience and knowledge of Solano County as a 5th generation resident makes her a perfect fit for the First 5 Commission while adding much needed representation on the board. She is currently the Director of Administration Services for the Solano County Sheriff’s Office where she oversees departmental functions, keeping careful watch of tax dollars while ensuring safety and services for all in need. She has been actively involved in area commissions previously and has a passion for helping those in need in our community. Ms. Donahue is motivated to serve and will be a fresh voice and wonderful addition to the commission.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department’s FY2024/25 Working Budget.

ALTERNATIVES:

The Board could choose not to appoint Lisa Donahue, but that is not recommended as she is uniquely qualified to serve on the First 5 Commission bringing with her deep roots in our community and a wide variety of leadership and management experience that will be a valuable resource for the commission.
