DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor James requests that the Board of Supervisors authorize the County's contribution of $2,000 from the General Fund contribution allocated to District 1 to benefit the following organizations, including Meals on Wheels of Solano County ($1,000) and Asian Pacific American Public Affairs Association Solano County ($1,000).
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
District 1 has identified two (2) local non-profit organizations for which to contribute its non-county contribution allocation, including:
Meals on Wheels of Solano County ($1,000)
To support the organization's efforts to provide nutritious meals, wellness checks, and other essential services to older adults and homebound residents throughout Solano County. This contribution helps promote health, independence, and dignity while improving the quality of life for some of the County's most vulnerable residents.
Asian Pacific American Public Affairs Association of Solano County ($1,000)
To support the organization's efforts to promote civic engagement, leadership development, community education, and advocacy throughout Solano County. This contribution helps strengthen community participation, cultivate future leaders, and expand opportunities for residents to engage in civic and public life.
