DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Sheriff recommends that the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve a Grant Property Transfer Agreement with the City and County of San Francisco's Department of Emergency Management to accept the transfer of 100 new General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) radios purchased with Department of Homeland Security Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) funds by the Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative Group;
2. Authorize Solano County's Emergency Services Manager to execute the Agreement; and
3. Approve an Appropriation Transfer Request recognizing $2,574 in unanticipated donation revenue offset by appropriations to record the donated equipment at its purchase price (4/5 vote required).
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The City and County of San Francisco (San Francisco), as the fiscal agency overseeing the Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative Group administering the San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) has offered General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) radios to Solano County. The Grant Property Transfer Agreement transfers ownership of 100 GMRS handheld radios newly purchased by the Bay Area UASI Group using FY2024 UASI funds to enhance community preparedness in the region.
