DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Human Resources recommends the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution amending the Alphabetical Listing of Classes and Salaries to add the new classification of Investment Officer with a monthly salary range of $11,093.79 - $13,484.57.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On March 12, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution No. 2024-23 to add 1.0 FTE Investment Officer (TBD) position to plan and direct the cash management and investment activities of the Treasurer-Tax Collector-County Clerk (TTCCC) office. To offset the request, the TTCCC requested, and the Board approved, the deletion of 1.0 FTE vacant Tax Collections Manager. HR worked with the TTCCC to develop the TBD classification which resulted in the classification title of “Investment Officer” with a monthly salary range of $11,093.79-$13,484.57.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The position is funded by the TTCCC through cost allocation there is no direct impact on the County General Fund. The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department’s FY2024/25 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board of Supervisors could elect not to amend the Alphabetical Listing of Classes and Salaries to add the new classification of Investment Officer; however, the Board approved the allocation of the position to the TTCCC, and the TTCCC and HR support the recommendation herein.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Treasurer-Tax Collector County-Clerk and the County Administrator’s Office were each consulted in the preparation of the recommendation.
