DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Sheriff's Office recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Custody Sergeant Melissa Guglielminetti upon her retirement from the Sheriff's Office with over 23 years of dedicated service to Solano County.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Melissa Guglielminetti began her career with the Solano County Sheriff's Office as a Sheriff's Services Technician on July 7, 2003. She was promoted to Correctional Officer on November 20, 2005, and promoted to Custody Sergeant on October 29, 2023, where she served until her retirement. As a Correctional Officer, Sergeant Guglielminetti worked numerous positions within the Custody Division, including Receiving Officer, Floor Officer, Roving Officer, and Classification Officer; and served as a Jail Training Officer, Facility Search Team leader, Force on Force Simulator instructor, member of the Peer Support, Report Writing and Crisis Negotiations Teams, and was an Academy Instructor of the very first Adult Corrections Officer Core Academy.
Sergeant Guglielminetti is known for her outstanding command presence with inmates, willingness to take responsibility, ability to resolve issues, and solution-oriented approach. She is highly motivated, meticulous, and, above all, resourceful.
Sergeant Guglielminetti is a highly respected and valued member of the Sheriff's Office and will be greatly missed by her friends and co-workers.
