DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of General Services recommends that the Board of Supervisors:

1. Approve the Notice of Completion (Attachment A) for the Repairs at New Kennel Building Project located at 2520 Clay Bank Road in Fairfield, constructed by Anthem Builders, Inc. of Roseville; and

2. Authorize the Clerk of the Board to record the executed Notice of Completion.

SUMMARY:

On December 4, 2018, the Board awarded a construction contract to Anthem Builders, Inc. to provide repairs to water-damaged finishes in areas of the New Kennel Building at 2520 Clay Bank Road in Fairfield (Project). During the course of construction, the quality of work satisfied the requirements of the construction documents prepared by the Project Architect Kitchell CEM of Sacramento. The Department of General Services requests that the Board approve the Notice of Completion for the Project and authorize the Clerk of the Board to record the document in order to release retention funds held by the County.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

On June 19, 2018, the Board approved $286,200 from Capital Renewal Reserve Fund in BU 1773 to fund the project. The construction contract with Anthem Builders, Inc. was $152,000 and one Change Order was issued in the amount of $97,737, resulting in a final construction contract of $249,737. The total project cost, including project management, engineering and design fees, and permits/ inspections was $286,200. The Project budget and expenses are summarized in Attachment B.
