DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Health and Social Services recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt and present a resolution recognizing April 22, 2026, as Administrative Professionals Day in Solano County.
SUMMARY:
Administrative Professionals Day, observed annually on the Wednesday of the last full week of April, recognizes the essential contributions of administrative staff in workplace operations. Across Solano County, more than 500 administrative professionals serve in roles such as Office Assistants, Inventory Clerks, Administrative and Legal Secretaries, Clerical Operations Supervisors, and many others, helping ensure programs, operations, and public services run smoothly and effectively. The Health and Social Services Department (H&SS) is proud to honor its expansive workforce of more than 300 administrative professionals, whose work is critical to supporting services that impact the health, safety, and well-being of our community every day.
These employees provide critical organizational, technical, and operational support that enables departments to deliver efficient, high-quality services to the community. Their professionalism, adaptability, and commitment strengthen the County's ability to meet its mission. Recognizing Administrative Professionals Day affirms the County's appreciation for their ongoing service and dedication.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The cost of preparing the agenda item is nominal and included in the Department's FY2025/26 Working Budget. The costs associated with the preparation and purchase of resolution materials are included in the Board's FY2025/26 Working Budget. There is no additional impact on the County General Fund.
