DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

Supervisor James requests that the Board of Supervisors authorize the County’s contribution of $2,000 from the General Fund contribution allocated to District 1 to benefit the following organizations including the Florence Douglas Center ($1,000), and the Solano Community Foundation ($1,000).

The center provides a safe and welcoming space where older adults can access resources, participate in activities, and stay connected to the community. As our senior population continues to grow, it is increasingly important to invest in the programs and services that uplift them and ensure they feel valued and supported.

Solano Community Foundation - $1,000
This donation to the Solano Community Foundation supports the upcoming Winged Migration Expo and its mission to promote environmental education, conservation awareness, and community engagement. The expo offers a unique opportunity for residents of all ages to learn about local wildlife, migratory bird patterns, and the importance of protecting natural habitats.
