DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor James requests that the Board of Supervisors authorize the County’s contribution of $3,100 from the General Fund contribution allocated to District 1 to benefit the following organizations, including Solano AIDS Coalition ($1,000), Veterans Building Council ($1,500), and VEST Solano ($600).
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
District 1 has identified the following local nonprofit organizations to receive non-County contribution allocations:
Solano AIDS Coalition — $1,000
The Solano AIDS Coalition provides services, education, information, and assistance to individuals and families affected by HIV, while promoting awareness and prevention throughout the community. Through outreach, educational programs, community events, and partnerships with local agencies and organizations, the Coalition connects residents with important information, resources, and support services. Funding will support the Coalition’s continued outreach and community engagement efforts, strengthen connections to local resources, promote HIV prevention and education, and help foster a healthier and better-informed community.
Vallejo Veterans Building Council — $1,500
The Vallejo Veterans Building Council supports local veterans and their families through educational workshops, resource fairs, health and wellness activities, community gatherings, commemorative events, and other programs that connect veterans with available benefits, services, resources, and one another.
