DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Directors consider adopting a resolution amending the regular meeting date and procedures for the East Vallejo Fire Protection District's Board of Directors.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
County Resolution 2007-147 (Attachment B) called for the Board of Directors to select its President and Vice President annually in conjunction with the selection of the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Solano County Board of Supervisors, with the individual selected to be Chair of the Board of Supervisors serving as the President of the District's Board of Directors and the individual selected to be Vice Chair serving as Vice President.
The Board is being asked to consider adopting a new resolution which would confirm the Board of Directors hold quarterly meetings and amend the language to remove the specific month these meetings be held in order to better align meetings with reporting data availability. The amended resolution confirms that annually, upon selection of the Chair and Vice Chair of the Solano County Board of Supervisor, those individuals shall automatically serve as President and Vice-President, respectively, of the District Board of Directors.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the District's FY2025/26 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board could choose not to amend Resolution 2007-147; however, this is not recommended as the meeting dates outlined in the resolution do not coincide with available reporting data and the proposed resolution meets mandated District reporting frequencies while allowing for meeting times better aligned with data availability.
