DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor James requests that the Board of Supervisors authorize the County's contribution of $2,350 from the General Fund contribution allocated to District 1 to benefit the following organizations, including Created Wonderfully Inc ($500), Solano Community Foundation ($1,000), and ARC Solano ($850).
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
District 1 has identified the following local nonprofit organizations to receive its non-county contribution allocations:
Created Wonderfully Inc. ($500)
Created Wonderfully, Inc. provides valuable support and resources that uplift individuals and families within the community through programs focused on empowerment, wellness, mentorship, and personal development. The organization's work helps create safe and supportive spaces that encourage self-confidence, resilience, and community connection. Funding will assist the organization in continuing its mission-driven programming and expanding opportunities for residents who may otherwise lack access to supportive services and enrichment activities.
Solano Community Foundation ($1,000)
Solano Community Foundation, as the fiscal sponsor of Vallejo Late Night Basketball, supports programming aimed at crime prevention through mentorship, positive engagement, and providing constructive alternatives for youth and individuals within the community. Through initiatives such as Vallejo Late Night Basketball, the Foundation helps create safe spaces that foster leadership, relationship-building, and community connection while reducing exposure to violence and negative influences.
