DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Department of Human Resources recommends that the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt a resolution amending the List of Numbers and Classifications of Positions to add 1.0 FTE Chief Deputy County Counsel and delete 1.0 FTE Chief Deputy County Counsel (TBD) in the County Counsel's Office subject to the Board of Supervisors' approval of the FY2025/26 Midyear Financial Report Attachment G; and
2. Adopt a resolution amending the Alphabetical Listing of Classes and Salaries to add the classification of Chief Deputy County Counsel with a monthly salary range of $19,186.75 - $23,321.62.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County Counsel's Office provides legal advice and representation to the Board of Supervisors, County departments, boards and commissions, and other County agencies on a wide range of civil and administrative matters.
In the FY2025/26 Midyear Financial Report, the County Counsel's Office has requested to modify its management structure to improve the distribution of supervisory and administrative responsibilities within the department by adding a 1.0 FTE Chief Deputy County Counsel (TBD).
