DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends the Board of Supervisors receive a presentation from the Department of General Services on the selection of Ellen Hudson as the May 2026 "Employee of the Month" for the County Administration Center Parking Program; as such, the designation will make her eligible to use the parking space designated for this honor.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

On September 13, 2005, the Board of Supervisors established the County Administration Center (CAC) "Employee of the Month Parking" program for County employees. Each month a County department is designated to select one of its employees as "Employee of the Month".

The month of May has been designated as the month for the Department of General Services to recognize one of our exemplary employees. Ellen (Lee) Hudson was selected for this honor.

Ms. Hudson began her full-time career with the County in December 2021 as a Senior Capital Projects Coordinator with the Department of General Services. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Facilities Engineering Technology from California State University Maritime Academy.

Prior to joining the County, Ms. Hudson began her career in facilities operations and later expanded into project management within biotech and commercial environment, with experience in tenant improvements, laboratory upgrades, general facility improvements, and ground-up construction. A notable project included delivery of a new mass timber commercial building in South San Francisco, featuring a customized, award-winning design developed in collaboration with a team of seasoned consultants.
