DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The County Administrator’s Office recommends the Board of Supervisors:
Review and consider approval of Solano County’s proposed 2027 Federal Legislative Platform and proposed 2027 State Legislative Platform;
Receive an update from staff and the County’s federal legislative advocates, Paragon Government Relations, on federal matters of interest to the County; and
Receive an update from staff and the County’s State legislative advocate, SYASL Partners, on State matters of interest to the County.
SUMMARY:
Each year, the Board of Supervisors adopts State and federal Legislative Platforms establishing Solano County’s policy priorities and providing direction to staff and the County’s legislative advocates for the upcoming legislative sessions. The proposed 2027 Legislative Platforms provide a framework for advancing the County’s interests, responding to legislation and budget proposals, and pursuing State and federal funding and policy opportunities.
In preparation for the 2027 platforms, the County Administrator’s Office solicited input from County departments and worked with SYASL Partners and Paragon Government Relations to review existing priorities and identify emerging issues. The resulting platforms reflect Countywide operational and policy priorities while providing flexibility to respond to developments throughout the 2027 legislative year.
