DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of the Assessor/Recorder recommends that the Board of Supervisors approve a plaque of appreciation honoring Crystella Powell, Auditor/Appraiser, upon her retirement with over 17 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Crystella Powell began her career with the Solano County Department of the Assessor/Recorder in April 2002. Ms. Powell has worked as a Certified Board of Equalization Auditor/Appraiser for the business division. As part of her duties, she's helped review 250 aircrafts, 7,000 boats and 7,500 business property accounts. These reviews occur on a yearly basis and Ms. Powell has always completed each assignment timely and with enthusiasm.

Ms. Powell has also contributed to the yearly mandatory audits of business accounts. In the past, when the business division participated in the California Counties Cooperative Audit Service Exchange, she traveled across California and out of state to represent Solano County proudly and with professionalism.

Over the past few years, the business division has led the Assessor's Department in utilizing paperless records through the implementation of online filing. Ms. Powell was enthusiastic about learning new skill sets to make this transition as easy as possible.

Crystella Powell meets each day with a smile. She treats all customers with understanding and patience and gives her best to resolve any issues they may have. Her coworkers admire her sunny disposition and consider her a compassionate friend. Always looking on the bright side, she makes every day better with her presence.
