DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The General Services Department recommends the Board of Supervisors approve the reappointment of Barry Pomeroy as the Recreational Pilot Member and Alan Johnson as the Business Representative Member to the Nut Tree Airport Advisory Committee, each for 4-year terms expiring June 30, 2028.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County's By-Laws for the Nut Tree Airport Advisory Committee identify a 5-member committee comprised of a Recreational Pilot, a Business Pilot, an Area Resident, a Pilots' Association Member, and a Vacaville Business Representative.
Mr. Pomeroy has served on the Airport Advisory Committee since 2021 and is a committee member in good standing. He has expressed a desire to continue serving on the Airport Advisory Committee as the Recreational Pilot Member. He adds experience in aviation and knowledge of working in government agencies to the committee.
Mr. Johnson has served on the Airport Advisory Committee since 2021 and is a committee member in good standing. He has expressed a desire to continue serving on the Airport Advisory Committee as the Business Representative Member. He brings experience in aviation and expertise in business relations and development to the committee.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no cost to appointing committee members and therefore there would be no impact to the General Fund as a result of this recommended action. Members of the Airport Advisory Committee volunteer their time.
The costs associated with preparation of the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department's FY2023/24 Working Budget.
