DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The District Attorney (DA) recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution authorizing the District Attorney, or her designee, to submit a grant application and related documents to the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) for the Victim Witness Assistance (VW) Program in the amount of $774,891 for the period of October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025; and Adopt a resolution amending the List and Numbers and Classifications of Positions to extend 3.0 FTE Victim Witness Assistants (Limited-Term) and 1.0 FTE Office Assistant II (Limited-Term) positions through September 30, 2026.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Funding for the FY2025/26 Victim/Witness Assistance Program for Solano County is $774,891, a decrease of $37,416 when compared to FY2024/25. This grant award represents the 44th year the District Attorney's Office has received funding under this program. The Victim Witness Assistant Grant Program currently funds 5.5 FTE Victim Witness Assistant positions and 1.0 FTE Office Assistant II positions.
