DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board adopt a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Judy Castillo, Legal Procedures Clerk for her twenty-five years of service with the Solano County Probation Department.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Judy M. Castillo started her career in Solano County on March 11, 1991 as a part time, extra- help,transcriber-typist for the Probation Department.  Judy quickly was hired to permanent part-time on June 23, 1991 and then went full time on November 5, 1995 in the same position classification.  On August 23, 1993, Judy accepted a department promotion as a Legal Procedures Clerk where she supported Probation Officers in setting up client files and processing orders received from the Court.  She has always displayed a high level of professionalism, dependability, dedication and commitment to the mission of the Solano County Probation Department of serving and protecting the citizens of Solano County.  Judy’s professionalism, skills, compassion and dedication to the Probation Department will be greatly missed.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Solano County’s Employee Recognition Program, related to retiring employees, is funded by Board-approved appropriation administered by the County Administrator’s Office and; therefore will have no additional financial impact to the General Fund.

ALTERNATIVES:

The Board of Supervisors could choose not to adopt a resolution honoring Judy Castillo for her twenty-five years of service; however this alternative is not recommended, as it would be contrary to Solano County’s Employee Recognition Policy.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

None.
