DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Approve a plaque of appreciation honoring Robert (Bob) Liu, Civil Engineer, Senior, upon his retirement from the Solano County Department of Resource Management with over 18 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Mr. Liu retired on May 5, 2026, as a Civil Engineer, Senior with the Department of Resource Management- Environmental Health Division after more than 18 years of exceptional service to Solano County and its residents. Mr. Liu began his career with Solano County on January 28, 2008. Prior to his role in the Environmental Health Division-Technical Services Program, Mr. Liu worked in the Resource Management-Public Works Engineering/Surveying Division.
During his career with Public Works Engineering/Surveying, Mr. Liu utilized his education and experience to serve as the resident engineer in charge of construction for many bridge, road and beautification projects. He completed bridge projects on Grizzly Island Road, Robinson Road and Suisun Valley Road, along with Solano County's largest bridge replacement on Winters Road. Mr. Liu also completed many road improvement and beautification projects including Gibson Canyon Road Improvement Project, Homeacres Sidewalk Project, Peaceful Glen Road Improvement Project, Old Town Cordelia Improvements and Mankas Corner Improvement Project. Many miles of county roads and bicycle lanes were maintained and constructed in Solano County under Mr. Liu's supervision.
