DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

Supervisor Vasquez requests that the Board of Supervisors authorize the County's contribution of $4,000 from the General Fund contribution allocated to District 4 to benefit the following organizations, including the Dixon Historical Society and Museum ($500), Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity ($1,000), Boy Scouts of America Troop 218 ($1,000), Dixon Women's Improvement Club ($500), and the Vacaville People's Forum ($1,000).

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The groups identified by District 4 for its non-county contribution allocation are local non-profits or organizations that enrich Solano County either through educational programs or community support.

Dixon Historical Society and Museum ($500)
The Dixon Historical Society and Museum works to protect, preserve, and promote the history of Dixon along with its pioneering families through exhibits, lectures, and events as well as research, publications, and educational activities.

Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity ($1000)
The Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build decent, affordable homes and make critical repairs to existing homes in our community. Through this partnership, families are empowered by having a safe place to live and thrive. Their vision focuses on communities where all families have access to decent, affordable housing.
