DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The Sheriff recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution designating the County Administrator, Auditor-Controller, Sheriff, Undersheriff, Director of Administrative Services, or Emergency Services Manager as agents to execute all actions necessary to obtain State and Federal financial assistance due to disaster conditions
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Resolution Number 2019-180, approved by the Board of Supervisors on September 10, 2019 designated the Sheriff, Undersheriff, Director of Administrative Services, or Emergency Services Manager as agents authorized to execute any actions necessary to obtain State and Federal financial assistance due to disaster conditions. The resolution was approved as part of Solano County's Hazard Mitigation Program. However, the County Administrator and Auditor-Controller were not listed on the resolution as authorized agents. An updated resolution is being requested to expand the authorized agent list to include the County Administrator and Auditor-Controller.
The requested resolution would be filed with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services for the purpose of obtaining certain Federal financial assistance under Public Law 93-288 as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and/or State financial assistance under the California Disaster Assistance Act.
