DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS) recommends that the that the Board of Supervisors adopt and present a resolution and plaque of appreciation honoring Cynthia Miller-McCoulf upon her retirement from Solano County with more than 31 years of dedicated public service to Solano County.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Cynthia Miller-McCoulf (Cindy) formally retired on September 30, 2016 as an Office Assistant II in the Vital Statistics Unit within Solano Public Health. Ms. Miller-McCoulf began her career with Solano County in October 1984 as a Clerical Support Specialist in the County Administrator's Office. She served in that position until 1990 when she transferred to H&SS's Public Health Division, Health Education and Community Wellness Bureau where she supported such projects as the Tobacco Education and Prevention Program. In 2001, Ms. Miller-McCoulf transferred to the Vital Statistics Unit within Solano Public Health and served in that unit for fifteen years as an Office Assistant II, providing excellent customer service to thousands of customers seeking birth and death certificates. For more than twenty-six years in H&SS's Public Health Division, Ms. Miller-McCoulf has been a kind, generous, dependable person, both as an Office Assistant II and as a colleague. In her thirty-one years of service, Ms. Miller-McCoulf has demonstrated a dedication to her job and a commitment to serving Solano County residents.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The cost of providing the resolution is included in the County's FY2016/17 Approved Budget. There is no additional impact to the General Fund.
