DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

First 5 Solano recommends that the Board of Supervisors adopt and present a resolution recognizing May 9, 2025, as Child Care Provider Appreciation Day in Solano.

SUMMARY

Each year since 2019, the Solano County Board of Supervisors has proclaimed Child Care Appreciation Day as a time to recognize the importance of child care providers and the vital role they play in supporting working parents and children by providing high quality care and early education. This year, Child Care Appreciation Day will be celebrated on May 9th.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

There is no financial impact to adopting this resolution. The costs associated with the preparation and purchase of the resolution materials are included in the Board's FY2024/25 Working Budget.

Solano County and many counties across the state are working to rebuild the child care capacity to support the needs of families getting back to work.
