DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
The District recommends the Board of Directors approve an Appropriation Transfer Request totaling $125,000 increasing appropriations for extra help expenditures for mutual aid strike team deployment, and for additional operational costs partially offset by recognizing $66,401 in unanticipated reimbursement revenues from the State of California Office of Emergency Services for the Suisun Fire Protection District with remaining revenues from contingencies (4/5 vote required).
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION
The Suisun Fire Protection District is requesting approval of an Appropriation Transfer Request totaling $125,000 in revenues and expenditures primarily for extra help expenditures necessary for mutual aid strike team deployment to the Garnet incident, which is partially offset by reimbursement totaling $66,401. District deployments to the State this past fire season provide essential operational support to the region, fulfilling its commitment to provide mutual aid.
The additional increase to appropriations includes an unanticipated increase in workers compensation insurance; a change in practice, now conducting annual audits which previously were bi-annual; and increases in health insurance, maintenance and fuel.
