DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

 

Supervisor James requests that the Board of Supervisors approve the appointment of Tinisch Hollins to serve on the Solano County Fair Association Board of Director representing District 1 for a term to expire July 31, 2028.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

 

Ms. Hollins has extensive experience in community engagement, currently serving as the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the San Francisco Black Wallstreet Foundation and the Executive Director of Californians for Safety and Justice. Her leadership has also included roles in community-based organizations, such as the San Francisco Mayor’s Office and Human Services Agency. She is a graduate of the Stanford SEERS program and the Levi Strauss Foundation’s Pioneers in Justice initiative, both of which focus on community leadership and justice.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

 

The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the District 1 FY2024/25 Working Budget.

 

ALTERNATIVES:

 

The Board may choose not to approve the appointment, however that is not recommended.
