DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

The Sheriff's Office requests that the Board adopt and present a resolution recognizing September 14-20, 2025 as National Security Officer Appreciation Week in Solano County.

SUMMARY:

In recognition of the contributions of contract and in-house security officers to safeguard our communities, Allied Universal has designated September 14-20, 2025, as National Security Officer Appreciation Week. This week has been set aside to honor the many security officers who provide safety and support services in public and private sectors across all industries.

The Sheriff's Office recognizes the need to raise public awareness about the services and functions of security officers and therefore wishes to participate in the upcoming National Security Officer Appreciation Week.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department's FY2025/26 Working Budget. The costs associated with preparation and purchase of the resolution materials are included in the Board's FY2025/26 Working Budget. There is no additional financial impact on the County as a result of recognizing September 14-20, 2025 as National Security Officer's Appreciation Week.
