DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board receive a presentation from the Auditor-Controller's Office on the selection of Rosalyn Mendoza for "Employee of the Month" for September 2026, making her eligible to use the parking space designated for this program.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

On September 13, 2005, the Board of Supervisors established the County Government Center "Employee of the Month" parking program for County employees. Each month a County department is designated to select one of its employees as "Employee of the Month." The Auditor-Controller's Office has been designated to select an employee for September 2026. The Department has selected Rosalyn Mendoza as the deserving employee.

Rosalyn began working at the Auditor-Controller's Office in 2014 as an Accountant-Auditor I, later promoting to Accountant-Auditor II and III. In her twelve years with the Department, Rosalyn has been an essential member of the Property Tax division. From processing and distributing secured, unsecured, supplemental, unitary, and defaulted tax rolls to calculating AB-8 factors, Redevelopment Agency (RDA) pass-through payments and residual distributions, and Educational Revenue Augmentation Fund (ERAF) amounts, there's nothing Rosalyn can't do.

As the senior member of the Property Tax division, Rosalyn's experience and knowledge are invaluable in supporting, training, and leading her teammates. She is always willing to help, takes the initiative to resolve problems, and ensures deadlines are met. With staffing changes due to retirements and promotions, Rosalyn has been a steady, reliable force - providing continuity and support to new management throughout the transition.
