DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

Supervisor Williams requests that the Board authorize acceptance of unanticipated sponsorship grant funds for District 3 totaling $4,000 received from Kaiser Permanente ($1,500), Partnership HealthPlan of California ($1,500) and Valero ($1,000) for the current period through June 30, 2025 to cover expenditure costs of the Black Maternal & Infant Health Birth Justice Seminar which was a joint effort of Supervisor Williams - District 3, Solano Commission for Women and Girls (SCWG) and Solano County Health and Social Services; and Approve an Appropriation Transfer Request for $4,000 to recognize the unanticipated funds to District 3 (4/5 vote required)

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Supervisor Williams, in conjunction with SCWG and Solano County Health & Social Services' Black Infant Health Program, held the Healing Our Future: Addressing Black Maternal and Infant Health Birth Justice Seminar on Saturday, April 12, 2025. The intent of the seminar was to inform the local community of the health disparities faced by Black Woman and Infants with a focus of seeking preventative solutions.
