DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:

 

Supervisor Mashburn requests that the Board of Supervisors approve the reappointment of Jacqui Nguyen to serve on the Solano Commission for Women and Girls representing District 5 for a term to expire November 9, 2029.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

 

Jacqui Nguyen is an accomplished business leader and communications strategist with a strong record of effective leadership and advocacy. She is an active member of the California Women’s Leadership Association and the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA), and she serves as Press Secretary and Director of Asian Pacific American Outreach in the California State Legislature. Ms. Nguyen brings demonstrated expertise in collaboration, strategic engagement, and organizational leadership, consistently turning vision into action and plans into measurable results. Driven by a commitment to public service, she will offer a fresh perspective and a dynamic new voice to the commission.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

 

The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the department’s FY2025/26 Working Budget.

 

ALTERNATIVES:

 

The Board could choose not to reappoint Jacqui Nguyen, but that is not recommended. Ms. Nguyen has already been serving the commission and has done a commendable job. In addition,  as she is well qualified, brings with her valuable resources and skills that benefit the commission.
