DEPARTMENTAL RECOMMENDATION:
Supervisor Monica Brown requests the Board of Supervisors approve the reappointment of Paula Bauer to the Solano County Planning Commission, representing District 2, for the term February 1, 2025, through January 31, 2029.
SUMMARY:
Ms. Bauer holds a B.A. in English and Journalism and a Juris Doctorate, both from the University of Nebraska. She is licensed to practice law in California. Ms. Bauer currently serves as the Chair of the Solano Planning Commission. In addition to serving on the Planning Commission, she has served on the audit committee for the Vallejo City Unified School District. In the March 2020 and 2024 primaries, Ms. Bauer was elected to four-year terms as a member of the Solano County Democratic Central Committee representing District 2. She previously served as the central committee treasurer and is currently the parliamentarian.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The costs associated with preparing the agenda item are nominal and absorbed by the District 2 FY2024/25 Working Budget.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board of Supervisors could choose not to approve the reappointment of Ms. Bauer to the Planning Commission. This is not recommended as Ms. Bauer is well qualified for the position and is a current member of the Planning Commission.
